Wayside’s Awana ministry seeks to reach students with the gospel and train them to know, love, and serve Christ. Awana is a blend of Bible teaching, scripture memorization, and fun for children from kindergarten through senior high (Preschool children of Awana leaders may participate in Puggles and Cubbies).
There is a $25 annual club fee per child, plus the cost of a uniform and books.
Children may begin attending any week; however, please register online prior to attending!
*Kids ages 2 - preschool may only participate if a parent is an Awana leader
AGES 2 - 3*Puggles introduces biblical truth in fun, and age-appropriate ways. Kids will explore four main truths seen through multiple Bible stories while memorizing one verse per truth. Activities, songs, crafts, games, and more will reinforce these truths and help kids love learning more about God and His world. **Only available for kids of Awana leaders**
AGES 3 - 5*Cubbies celebrate the spiritual potential of preschoolers by helping them develop a respect for God, His Son, and His Word. At story time each week, preschoolers learn about God - the greatness of His love and His Word - and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. **Only available for kids of Awana leaders**
GRADES K - 2Sparks ignite the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Each year, Sparks clubbers explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of scripture, memorize Bible verses, and complete handbook activities.
GRADES 3 - 6 T&T engages 3rd through 6th graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace. Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child's knowledge about God and His Word while teaching them how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
GRADES 7 - 8 Trek challenges middle school students to consider their destiny in Christ and pursue it through life application to God's Word. Through practical application of biblical lessons and scripture memorization, students will grow stronger in their walk with God.
