Support Groups
Groups for every need
Whether you are struggling with sexual purity or dealing with cancer, the loss of a spouse, the effects of choosing an abortion, a family member with special needs, or just the exhaustion of being a mom with small children, we know life can be hard. Our support groups provide a safe place to find fellowship, support, encouragement, and resources.
Care and Comfort is a group designed to provide encouragement and support for women who are facing the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term effects of cancer. The goal is to provide support in a way that offers understanding, helpful and relevant information, comfort and hope, and practical support. Fun events and prayer support throughout the year make this ministry unique and valuable as you partner with others on this same journey.
Cultivate is a ministry designed to help moms flourish by cultivating friendships and encouragement. Cultivate provides a place for moms to connect with one another and with Jesus by fostering a community that promotes encouragement, learning, and friendships for women who have kids from birth through 5th grade.
This group seeks to provide support, encouragement, and prayer for those caring for loved ones. The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
We also offer Caregiver Seminars which provide valuable information on how to care for loved ones such as available community support and more. These seminars are offered throughout the year and will be listed on our events calendar.
First Place for Health (FP4H) is a Christ-centered support group that takes a holistic approach to health, encouraging a person's physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being. FP4H will guide you through important nutrition and fitness practices that promote healthy living and weight loss. The class emphasizes spiritual balance and harmony through weekly Bible study, building healthy interpersonal relationships, and mental challenges through scripture memory. Weekly meetings include accountability, encouragement and fellowship, Bible study discussion, nutritional and fitness information, a weigh-in, and most of all – prayer.
We strive for belonging, value, and purpose for people with disabilities and their families. Our primary focus is providing support to families and individuals on Sunday mornings.
We serve individuals with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Our ministry partners with individuals with disabilities and their families to create meaningful connections within the church.
While forming authentic relationships, we provide resources and opportunities to intentionally integrate individuals and families into the ministry of the church.

Struggling in your thought life, identity, or sexual integrity? Breaking out of the entanglement of sexual sin takes courage, and our leadership team includes men who understand, can identify with, and are comfortable discussing and supporting the topics around purity. In addition, they are sensitive to these issues and provide accountability in a non-judgmental way. All inquiries and groups are confidential.
For most women, abortion is a closely held secret. It is rarely talked about with family or friends and many women are fearful they will be judged if someone finds out they made an abortion choice. There is good news: God can heal your pain and bring new joy to your heart. This confidential group seeks to help participants heal and discover the forgiveness God offers freely. Our group is a safe place to share your fears, anger, pain, or shame as you work through the heartache of your abortion.
These 12-week groups are held once in the fall and once in the spring. All inquiries are confidential.
This is a supportive community of women who are alone, including those that are widowed, unmarried, divorced, or spousal caregivers. Join us and find strength for your journey as we seek to share God's grace, love, and joy.
We meet monthly from September - May for a time of fellowship, Bible study, and more. Our goal is that each woman will experience spiritual growth and encouragement through fellowship and involvement.
This group includes current Wayside families/singles who have stepped into the space of fostering and adoption here in San Antonio. They meet monthly for a time of fellowship and encouragement.
