But Jeremiah knew God’s judgment was coming. Jeremiah knew that God’s Word would prevail. If the people of Israel had repented and gone back to worshipping the One true God, their enemies would have had no power over them. When we trust that God’s way is best and that He has a plan for our lives, we can have hope for the future. When I think about the Christmas story, I always think of Mary—a young girl whose life was turned upside down.Mary had a plan for her life. She was engaged to be married, and was ready to start a traditional life. But then God sent an angel who gave her a message that complicated her simple life. Mary could have fought against God’s plan, but instead, her response was much like Jeremiah’s words.
