2022 Annual Report

Monday Nights: Throughout the fall and spring semesters, we welcomed between 25-45 college students for worship, fellowship, and teaching. In the Fall, we studied the life of Jacob and the parables of Jesus. In the Spring, we discussed discipleship and obedience to Jesus through practical lessons on the Christian life. Life Groups: We had four peer-run college life groups meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday nights throughout the year. These groups are designed to provide community, accountability, and consistent study of the Word. Each college leader was mentored by a “coach” to encourage them and help them grow in their leadership. Additionally, leaders meet together once a month to recap and plan for future studies. Sunday Study: In the Fall of 2021 we launched a new ministry to provide a space for college students on Sunday morning to gather for breakfast, fellowship, and a brief lesson with a discussion. Additionally, this serves as a discipleship opportunity for students as they’re developing relationships with several mature, godly leader couples who model obedience to Christ post-college. Other Events: This year, our college students participated in a number of other events including our fall retreat at Camp Eagle, VBS, and several other fellowship and outreach opportunities throughout the summer. Summer Study: Each summer, we ask a few of our students to facilitate a student-led study. This is a great opportunity to invest students with ownership and leadership responsibilities and to identify potential future life group leaders. This year, our students are studying the books of Ruth and James. Partnership(s): We continue to partner with the Navigators in the college ministry as they provide an on-campus presence for the ministry. We also hosted several events where the Navigators' leadership trained us in relational ministry and equipped our leaders to share the Gospel in their various contexts. Throughout the year, a number of our college students who participated in the discipleship training in the college ministry have in turn helped bring the evangelism and outreach tools to the broader congregation at both the Stone Oak and 410 campuses.
