2022 Annual Report

This past year saw some new and exciting changes at our Stone Oak campus. In January, we went to live preaching every Sunday and that has added so much to our worship services. We were sad to see Pastor Cameron Contrestano transition to the 410 Campus in January but we are excited for him as he leads our College and Singles ministries. It was a blessing to have our worship leader, Doug Hurt, finish his seminary degree and go through the ordination process at Wayside. Doug is now our Pastor of Student Ministries and is doing a great job spiritually investing in the lives of our young people and their families. We brought on a new worship leader, Gabe Rios, in February and we are very thankful for him. We have experienced great fellowship and community in our Adult Sunday Study that meets on Sundays at 9:15. We went through studies on Hebrews and 1 Peter this past year. We went through studies on Colossians, Philemon, and 1 John with the men on our Stone Oak campus each Wednesday night. This has been very encouraging for the men in our congregation to make solid connections with other guys as we pray for each other and sharpen one another spiritually. We hosted an outdoor Good Friday service and an outdoor Easter Sunrise service and both were very meaningful and worshipful. Our campus hosted a special Father-Daughter Date Night as we focused on how the daughters are so beloved in God’s eyes and to their earthly fathers/grandfathers as well. We hosted a Night of Worship at our campus on June 3 that provided an opportunity for our people to invite friends to our church. This Fall, we will have 5 Stone Oak Life Groups meeting and we plan on having training for our Life Group leaders as well. Our student ministry did an exceptional job this summer providing fun and meaningful opportunities for our students to connect with God and one another through an in-town missions experience for our Middle School students and a mission trip to Houston for our high school students. Our Director of Children’s Ministries, Michelle Jenkins, continues to do an outstanding job reaching our children and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am excited that she will continue to offer our Kids Day Out ministry this Fall. Our Women’s Bible Studies will resume on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings in September as the ladies continue in their study of the Gospel of John. Our campus will continue to host Bible Study Fellowship small groups on Thursday mornings this Fall. We also hosted three Discipleship and Evangelism Training events at our Stone Oak campus in January, March, and May, as we equip our people to reach into our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
