2022 Annual Report

In the Spring of 2022, I (Cameron) took over the responsibility for the singles ministry from Pastor Jason who has taken on more leadership and teaching responsibilities. I’m grateful for the encouragement and welcome I have received in making the transition, especially from the leadership. SINGLES MINISTRIES Cameron Contrestano, Pastor of College & Single Adult Ministries Sunday Mornings: Throughout the year, the singles ministry welcomes between 30 to 60 individuals to our Sunday morning gathering. During this time, we enjoy breakfast, fellowship, discussion, and teaching. In the fall semester, we studied the marks and works of the Church and in the spring we learned about the parables of Jesus and discipleship. Throughout the year, we will take a break from our normal routine with various special focuses. This year, we’ve hosted discipleship trainings, a financial wellness seminar, and several fellowship-focused mornings. Life Groups: We had several peer-run life groups meeting throughout the week in various homes across the city. These groups are designed to provide community, accountability, and consistent study of the Word. Leaders meet together once a month to recap and plan for future studies. Retreat: This year we took 40 singles to T Bar M camp for our Fall retreat where Walt and Brenda McCord led our sessions teaching through the book of Haggai. This was a great time of fellowship and refreshment for the group. Other Events: This year, our singles participated in a number of other events including discipleship trainings and several other fellowship opportunities including game nights, worship nights, and men’s and women’s focused events. Our singles are also very active in serving the various ministries at Wayside including the children’s ministry on Sunday mornings and through opportunities like VBS; Wayside service days, and other outreach projects across the city.
