2022 Annual Report

Wayside Kids provides a safe and happy place where parents can feel comfortable leaving their children while they attend their own time of worship or teaching. We desire to come alongside parents to help them as they lead their children to learn and understand the truth of God’s Word. Sunday Mornings: On Sunday mornings, the youngest children are cared for in the nursery where the activities help them learn God made them and He loves them. Preschool through 5th grade classes participate in worship and age-specific Bible lessons and activities designed to help them develop and grow in their faith. On our website, we provide a Weekly Discussion Guide for families to dive deeper into the elementary lesson. Child Dedication: This year, we had two families dedicate their young children to the Lord. One of the families also has an elementary-age child who was baptized. We commit to support these families as they strive to raise their children to know and love Jesus. Weekday Childcare: We provided childcare on Tuesday mornings during the Women’s Bible study and on Wednesday evenings for parents who were serving in the Student Ministry Reverb groups. Kid’s Day Out: In September, we relaunched our KDO program at Stone Oak! We consistently had one class of 10 kids with a few others coming and going throughout the year. Kid’s Day Out gives us the opportunity to root young children in God’s Word as we teach them from a Bible-based curriculum, reach out to the Stone Oak community as the program is open to non-church members, and reproduce Christ followers as the children learn about Jesus and take what they learn home to their families. Parent’s Night Out: In February, we hosted our first PNO with 36 kids attending. It was a fun night of food, Bible stories, games, and crafts. The parents were very thankful for the opportunity to drop off their kids and go on a date! We will be hosting our next PNO in December. Parent’s Night Out is another opportunity for us to reach out to the Stone Oak community, bringing people to our campus who might not otherwise attend church.
