Worship Teams

Wayside Worship Ministries seek to provide opportunities for people to encounter God. If you have musical gifting, we would love to have you join one of our teams!

Choir – As we sing, the focus is on Jesus! So regardless of what you sound like, you are welcome to sing aloud with us. The choir is a group of believers who represent the larger body of the congregation and serve as encouragers and role models of what it looks like to praise God with joy. The repertoire consists of regular Sunday songs. The choir meets to rehearse most Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters from 6:30 – 8 pm in the Green Room next to the Worship Center on the 410 Campus. On Sundays when the choir sings there is a soundcheck rehearsal at 8 am.

Orchestra – The orchestra is an age-integrated group, open to everyone with the desire to serve the Lord and the church through music. There is space for all instruments and skill levels, both students and adults with at least two years of experience in their instrument. The orchestra plays approximately once a month during the fall and spring semesters. They meet to rehearse on Thursdays from 6:30 – 8 pm only on weeks when they are leading in worship during the Sunday service. On Sundays, there is an 8 am soundcheck rehearsal before the 9:15 am service.

Blended Worship Team – The goal of this team is to help the congregation focus on God and His Word with songs rich in scripture, so God is glorified and the worshipper is edified. It consists of singers and band members. Piano/keyboard/organ, acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass, and drums are the main components of the band. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 8 am.

Contemporary Worship Team – The contemporary teams are passionate about providing music that encourages God’s people to worship Him through contemporary styles of music during the 11 am contemporary services at both campuses. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 6 – 7 pm for the 410 Campus team and on Sundays at 9 am for the Stone Oak campus team.
