Have you accepted Christ as your Savior? Are you ready to commit to growing in Christ and encouraging others here at Wayside? If so, we would love for you to become a member.

Though not required, we recommend that those interested in membership attend Discovering Wayside to learn more about Wayside’s history, beliefs, and ministries. This class is offered three times a year, usually in January, May, and September.

In order to become a member, a membership application and elder interview is required. This will give you the opportunity to share your personal testimony with us so that we can learn how to love and support you best. To learn more: LaurieM@waysidechapel.org

If you’re ready to publicly profess your faith in Christ, please complete this form or email BeckyS@waysidechapel.org, and we will contact you with more information.
To submit a prayer request, call 210.318.2232 and leave your request. This will be added to a church-wide prayer line for others to hear.

To hear prayer requests, call 210.318.2267 to listen to prayer needs left on the church-wide prayer line.

On Sunday mornings, you can write confidential prayer requests on a Connection Card and place the card in the offering plate. Prayer partners are also available by the stage to pray with you at the end of the services.

We are a community…

Rooted In The Word

We believe the Scriptures are inerrant in the original writings and are our supreme authority for faith and action. Therefore, we feel that knowing and studying the Bible should be a foundational part of every Christian’s spiritual walk. Everything from our sermons to our support groups are rooted in the Bible.

Reaching Out To The World

We want to put our faith into action and follow Jesus’ call to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). If we have received the greatest gift imaginable, shouldn’t we share it with others? We are committed to sharing Christ with the world, whether they live across the street or across the globe.

Reproducing Christ Followers

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20) We want to be a church of disciples who make disciples. Through things like Bible studies and discipleship groups, we strive to develop disciples that can’t help but share the gospel with others.

What We Believe

We believe the Scriptures are inerrant in the original writings and are our supreme authority for faith and action.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – identical in nature, distinct but harmonious in function.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth ; His sinless life; His substitutionary death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal, imminent return.
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin and indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for Godly living, service, and worship.
We believe God personally created the heavens and earth, and made man in His image; that by man’s disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice.
We believe Satan is a real being and the archenemy of the saints and the Godhead.

We believe salvation is through Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone; and that sanctification is past, present and future.

We believe church ordinances include baptism and communion, neither of which is required for salvation.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of believers to everlasting blessedness and of the unjust to everlasting condemnation.
