Agape/AMEN Ministry

A new command I give you.  Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.  John 13:34-35
 
Defined, Agape love is the highest form of love and is characterized by sacrifice.  This love, put into action, is the choice to enter someone's world of need without expecting anything in return.  That is what God did when He sent His son.  The result is glory to God.  There are many ways you can become involved and demonstrate Agape love in action.  Please let us know if you are interested in serving in the Agape/Amen Ministry.
 
Giving
 
Agape Food Pantry - Donations of nonperishable food are used to provide for emergency needs
Agape Fund - Contributions designated for the Agape Fund are used to provide limited financial resources to people within the Wayside family when emergency needs arise.
 
Agape Men & Women
  • Meals on Wheels - Delivers prepared meals to shut-ins
  • Phone Friends - Provides phone calls to shut-ins
  • Disaster Relief - Provides assistance to disaster victims
  • Nursing Home & Shut-in Visitation - Ministers through monthly visitation to nursing home residents and those in the Wayside Family with ongoing illnesses.

Agape Women

  • Zip Code Meals - Provides meals for people in the church family in cases of illnesses, births and other special needs
  • Manna Meals - Prepares food at the church for the Agape freezer
  • Funeral Reception Ministry - Provides food or sets up, serves and cleans up after funeral receptions
  • Greeting Cards - Sends monthly encouragement cards to nursing home residents and those in the Wayside family who are unable to attend
  • Holiday Ministry - Provides turkeys and "trimmings" for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for Wayside families experiencing need

Agape Men

  • Furniture - Accepts, stores and distributes donated furniture to those in need
  • Moving - Offers assistance with moves
  • Automobile Repair - Offers assistance with automobile repair and maintenance
  • Basic Home Repair - Assists with home repair
