Level I Mission trip Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico
Thousands of Mexicans come to the border towns of Rio Bravo and Reynosa, Mexico in search of a better life. They arrive with no money, no jobs and no homes to live in. Finding scraps of plastic, tin, and tree limbs, they build a shelter for their family.
Forty-two percent of the economically active population in Mexico makes between US $4.25 and US $8.50 a day, not enough to maintain a family. An additional 10% don't even earn the minimum wage.
We will be partnering with Mission Discovery, the social services office of the city, and a local congregation to build 90 homes, and lead an exciting Children's Bible School that will reach hundreds. You'll spend an incredible day off at the Mexican craft market. Each night your group will participate in an awesome evening program featuring music and a challenging speaker.
